8A- Solving the problem

8A- Solving the problem
·      My problem that I chose was to continue with the opioid crisis between the administration of prescribing them to patients that then become addicted. The different type of opioids is heroin, fentanyl, oxycontin, and Vicodin. All these drugs can lead to high addiction rates and death.
·      I would like this product not to only be for patients that are willing to try and get off of it but to try and stop this crisis before more people get hurt or even worse die. The diverse group is great people we can see on a spectrum a really healthy person or a true addict that is not healthy.
1.     The product that I would be willing to create would essentially be half herbal supplements mixed in with the opioids because if the patient I still in extreme pain they need this to ease the pain. Along with this, it can decrease the cost of the prescription, decrease deaths since the person isn’t consumers the full amount, will have normal bowel movement, and won’t be addicted to a pill that they might not have need at all.
2.     The service that I would do if first got the pharmaceutical labs and change the ingredients 50/50 herbs and then the medication. The actual service would to roll out a law or agreement with the board of doctors to implement these rules and to take better care and safety. If these do not work, I would like to create an herbal remedy to ease the pain at a center where people can come and there will be a nurse practitioner on sight if there is any emergency.

Your explanations on how to execute the problem was very thorough and made more sense while reading it. With your new solutions maybe you can make a business out of it and also help peoples lives.

  2. Hey Ariel! This product idea hits especially close to home since my grandma passed away from opioid addiction a couple years ago. It's honestly disgusting how pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals have partnered to perpetuate this crisis. The pill you proposed could also be used to slowly wean patients off of maximum strength opiates. I'm excited to see you keep working on this idea this semester!

  3. Hi Ariel! This is such a great post about an issue that negatively impacts so many people. I think your idea to use a pill to combat this issue could be extremely effective both physically and mentally for patients who are hurt by this crisis. This is a really great idea and I can tell from the way you write about it that it is something you are truly passionate about. Again, great job on this assignment!
